Silver Strikers Youth return home in the 2026/27 First Capital Bank (FCB) Katswiri Under-20 League to host Heroes FC in a midweek fixture at Silver Stadium on Wednesday.
The Area 47-based lads go into the fixture on the back of a 2-0 away victory over Ascent Soccer Academy in the semi-final of the FED Steel Engineering U-19 Tournament.
Head Coach Rodrick Gonani says it is difficult to say much about preparations as the team was about to start preparing for the final against Namasala FC when they were informed about the midweek fixture.
However, the coach said the technical panel will talk to the players to approach the game with a positive mindset and a desire to collect maximum points.
“We are playing the current leaders of the log table, which means it will not be an easy game. We have a final ahead of us, and we may be avoiding risking injuries, but at the same time, we are also fighting for first position, and a loss could see our opponents move further away from us. It is a tricky fixture, but we will play to win,” said Gonani.
Gonani further highlighted that the fixture has 2 faces, as a win could boost morale in the camp, while a negative result would do the opposite.
He also confirmed that all players are in good shape and available for selection.
