August was filled with action as it was the only month where all four Silver Strikers teams were in full action.
In August, the senior men’s team was up and down collecting the much-needed points in the 2026/27 FDH Premiership. The side played against Karonga United, CRECK Sporting Club, Ekhaya FC as well as Goshen City Dedza Dynamos. In these games, the side won three games and shared spoils once.
Going forward in the month of September, the senior men’s side begin the month with an away fixture in Blantyre to face third placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in what will also be the last match of the first round of the league competition.
As the first-round ends, Silver Strikers will be looking forward to the start of the second round where the side will host Mighty Wanderers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe. The dates for the restart of the league will be announced by the Super League of Malawi in due course.
Action in the topflight league will be at a stop later this month as from 21st September to 6th October this year, it is the FIFA International Break.
Moving away from the senior men’s team, In August, Silver Strikers Ladies were in Botswana where the side took part in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League| COSAFA Qualifier.
The Ladies’ side broke the record of becoming the first team from Malawi to win two matches at the competition as well as the first team from Malawi to qualify to the Group Stages. Silver Strikers Ladies won against Costal Do Sol (2-1) and Nsingizi Hotspurs (3-1). The side lost against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (3-0), Zesco Ndola Girls in the semifinal (2-1) and finally against Gaborone United in the third place plat off (4-0).
Early in September, the Ladies’ team will begin the National Bank Women’s Premiership defense as they look to secure another chance to play at the COSAFA regional stage.
The Reserve side finished the month on top of the GOJET Central Regions Football Association League One after an impressive run. The side will look to continue with their impressive unbeaten run in order to safeguard their top spot.
Lastly, Silver Strikers Youth is also in action. In August, the side continued with its perfect run both in Katswiri FCB Under 20 League and in the FED Steel Engineering Under 19 Tournament. On Sunday 6 September, the Youth side will play against Namasala Football Academy in the final of the FED Steel Engineering Under 19 Tournament.
