Silver Strikers Reserve will face Kalembelembe FC in their 9th fixture of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division League One campaign at ADL Ground on Saturday.
The Reserve team head into the match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Mbabzi United last Saturday.
It will be the first time for the both sides to play against each other as Kalembelembe are debutants in the league having earned promotion from the lower division at the end of last season.
Assistant Coach Shadreck Chikhosi says preparations have gone well this week, with the technical panel placing greater focus on finishing.
“We have had successful training sessions, and nothing has changed in the way we prepare for the games. Our target is to get maximum points in the upcoming games. We scored twice last week, which was an improvement from our previous performances, and we have been working on finishing this week to keep scoring multiple goals, as we understand they will matter at some point in the league,” said Chikhosi.
Chikhosi also stated that the team is targeting the top spot and believes it is attainable.
“Blue Eagles Reserve must not relax at the top. We are coming to challenge them, and I believe that by the end of the first round, we will be top of the log and they will be lurking behind us.”
The team will be without defenders Alufeyo Nyirenda and Brino Mdumuka due to injuries.
Silver Strikers Reserve have collected 18 points from their previous 8 matches, registering 5 wins and 3 draws. The young Bankers began the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mchinji Villa before sharing the spoils in a goalless encounter against Chimbiya Stars.
The team is sitting on the second position with just a point behind Blue Eagles Reserve.
They then recorded back-to-back 1-0 victories over Santhe Admarc and Blue Eagles Reserve before earning a 2-2 draw against Armour Battalion. They went on to edge Airborne Rangers and LUANAR FC with 1-0 victories before beating Mbabzi United 2-0 in their most recent fixture.
Silver Strikers Reserve will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten start to the season, strengthen their position on the league table and continue building momentum as they mount pressure on defending champions and log leaders Blue Eagles Reserve.
