Silver Strikers Youth have picked up a point at home after a 1-1 draw against Villa FC in the 2026/27 First Capital Bank (FCB) Katswiri Under-20 League at Silver Stadium on Sunday.
The Youthful Central Bankers started brightly and took the lead in the 6th minute through Nulu Jana, who put the hosts ahead early in the encounter.
Villa FC, however, responded strongly and eventually found the equaliser to ensure the two sides shared the spoils.
Head coach Rodrick Gonani expressed disappointment with his side’s lack of composure in front of goal despite creating several opportunities.
“We had a good game. The opponents gave us an equally good game. It is like a derby when we play and both teams play good football. But the game was ours to lose. We created a lot of chances, just that we failed to convert them into goals,” said Gonani.
Gonani further said the technical panel will continue working with the players on their finishing, stressing that the team needs to become more clinical if it is to turn its impressive performances into victories.
The draw takes Silver Strikers Youth to 5 points from their opening 3 matches.
They started the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks Youth before drawing 1-1 with Mchesi Madrid last weekend.
