Silver Strikers Reserve will make a short trip for their 7th fixture of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division League One campaign as they face LUANAR FC at Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.
The Reserve side head into the match on the back of a 1-0 win against Airborne Rangers a fortnight ago.
Head coach McDonald Yobe says the team has prepared well and is targeting maximum points.
“The difference in points is tight in the league and we understand the importance of getting all the points. We can move many steps down if we lose points, and we will remain in title contention if we get maximum points,” said Yobe.
The coach has also stated that the one-week break will not have an impact on the team’s performance.
“We only rested for one weekend, so I do not think that has affected the boys’ play. We have trained this week and everyone is showing hunger as ever. What we can only do is work on their mentality and approach to the game,” he added.
The gaffer further said there are no serious injury concerns in the squad and that selection will depend on the demands of the game.
Silver Strikers Reserve have collected 12 points from their opening 6 matches, registering 3 wins and 3 draws. The young Bankers began the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mchinji Villa before sharing the spoils in a goalless encounter against Chimbiya Stars.
They then recorded back-to-back 1-0 victories over Santhe Admarc and Blue Eagles Reserve before earning a 2-2 draw against Armour Battalion. Their most recent fixture ended in a 1-0 victory over Airborne Rangers.
The team will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten start to the season, strengthen their position on the league table and continue building momentum as they chase a stronger finish than last season.
