Three players from Silver Strikers Reserve have been nominated for the July Player of the Month Award following their impressive performances during the month.
This is the inaugural award for the Reserve side.
The Reserve team played five matches since the start of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division League One campaign, recording 2 wins and 3 draws to remain unbeaten.
The nominees are Jonathan Mtonga, Alufeyo Nyirenda and Prince Kumwembe.
Jonathan Mtonga
The goalkeeper earns his nomination after producing a series of commanding performances between the posts. Mtonga featured in all 5 matches during the month and kept 3 clean sheets against Chimbiya FC, Santhe Admarc and Blue Eagles Reserve. His consistency and crucial saves earned him the Player of the Match award in the goalless draw against Chimbiya FC.
Alufeyo Nyirenda
The defender is shortlisted after another solid month at the heart of the Silver Strikers Reserve defence. Nyirenda featured in all 5 matches, helping the team maintain one of the best defensive records in the league. He also scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Blue Eagles Reserve and was deservedly named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Prince Kumwembe
The midfielder completces the shortlist following his influential displays throughout the month. Kumwembe featured in all 5 matches, starting one and making an impact off the bench in the others. He has been a game changer whenever called upon, providing 2 assists for the team’s goals and consistently adding creativity and energy in attack.
The winner of the July Player of the Month Award will be announced after the voting process.
