Three players have been nominated for the July Player of the Month Award following their outstanding performances in the month of July. During the month, Silver Strikers played four matches but the nominees include the stats from a late June match played on June 28 against Red Lions in a 3-0 victory
Silver Strikers played three FDH Bank Premiership matches in July against Chitipa United, Karonga United and LUANAR Mitundu. The side also faced Karonga United in the Airtel Top 8.
The nominees are midfilders Zebron Kalima, and Levison Maganizo as well as defender Innocent Shema.
Zebron Kalima:
The captain earns his nomination after another month of consistent and influential performances in the heart of Silver Strikers’ midfield. Kalima continued to drive the team’s attacking play while providing leadership on and off the ball. His impressive month was capped by a well-taken goal in the 1-1 draw against LUANAR Mitundu, underlining his importance to the Central Bankers’ title challenge.
Levison Maganizo
The defensive midfielder makes the shortlist following a series of disciplined displays in front of the backline. Maganizo carried out the less glamorous side of the game with great efficiency, breaking up opposition attacks and providing vital protection to the defence. His contribution played a key role in Silver Strikers keeping clean sheets against Red Lions and Chitipa United while maintaining balance in midfield throughout the month.
Innocent Shema
The defender completes the shortlist after making a significant impact at both ends of the pitch. Shema scored twice in the emphatic 3-0 victory over Red Lions, a performance that earned him the Player of the Match award, before adding another goal in the 4-1 win over Karonga United. His three goals during the month made him one of Silver Strikers’ standout performers in July.
The winner of the July Player of the Month Award will receive a K400,000 cash prize sponsored by Pinnacle Financial Services, a K500,000 shopping voucher from C.P Investments Malawi, and a K500,000 shopping voucher from Blue Waves Energy Limited.
