Silver Strikers Reserve return to home soil for their sixth fixture of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division League One campaign as they host Airborne Rangers at ADL Ground on Sunday, August 2.
The Reserve side head into the match on the back of a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Armor Battalion at Chivala School Ground in Dowa last Sunday.
Silver Strikers Reserve collected 4 points against Airborne Rangers last season, recording a 2-1 home victory before playing out a 1-1 draw away. The team will be looking to maintain that dominance and return to winning ways.
Head coach McDonald Yobe believes his side is ready for another stern test against the Salima-based soldiers, having faced a fellow military side in their previous fixture.
“We have work on the mentality of the boys. Soldiers play a physical game, so we will need to be quick in making decisions. With how we finished our last game, I hope it will be a good game. We created more chances in the second half; we just need to build on that and we will get a positive result,” said Yobe.
The coach also stressed the importance of securing all three points as the team continues its pursuit of the league title.
“This is a must-win game for us if we are to compete for the title this season. Every point matters, and we need to make the most of our home matches,” he added.
Yobe said has confirmed that they have a full squad ahead of the contest.
Silver Strikers Reserve have collected 9 points from their opening 5 matches, registering 2 wins and 3 draws. The young Bankers began the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mchinji Villa before sharing the spoils in a goalless encounter against Chimbiya Stars. They then recorded back-to-back 1-0 victories over Santhe Admarc and Blue Eagles Reserve before earning a 2-2 draw against Armour Battalion last weekend.
The young Central Bankers will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten start to the season, strengthen their position on the league table, and continue building momentum as they chase a stronger finish than last season.
