Silver Strikers Reserve travel to Dowa to face Armor Battalion in their fifth fixture of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division League One campaign at Chivala School Ground on Sunday, July 26.
The Reserve side head into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Blue Eagles Reserve last weekend, a result that extended their unbeaten start to the season.
Silver Strikers Reserve collected 4 points against Armor Battalion last season, recording a 4-1 victory at home before playing out a 1-1 draw away. The team will be looking to continue that dominance and extend its winning run.
Head coach McDonald Yobe says his players understand the importance of the fixture and are determined to claim maximum points.
“We are coming from two back-to-back victories and the players understand the importance of winning this game. The three points will keep us in a good position on the table, and the morale will remain high, which can help us continue getting positive results in the upcoming games that we dearly need,” said Yobe.
The team will be without Umali Mussa and Francis Kadango, who are both sidelined due to injuries. Sylvester Phiri is unavailable due to illness. Gift Msiska will miss the next few weeks because of academic commitments.
Despite the absentees, Yobe believes the team has enough depth to remain competitive.
“We believe in all the players that we signed because they are equally good. This allows others to step up, and we are confident they will help us achieve a positive result,” he said.
Silver Strikers Reserve have collected 8 points from their opening 4 matches after registering 2 wins and 2 draws. The side opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mchinji Villa before sharing the spoils in a goalless encounter with Chimbiya Stars. They have since recorded consecutive 1-0 victories over Santhe Admarc and Blue Eagles Reserve as they continue to build momentum in the title race.
