Silver Strikers Reserve will host Santhe Admarc FC in their third match of the 2026/27 GOJET Investments Central Region Football Association Division One campaign at ADL Ground on Saturday, July 11.
The young Central Bankers head into the match following a goalless away draw against Chimbiya Stars at Linthipe Secondary School Ground last Sunday. They still search for their first win.
Head coach McDonald Yobe says the team has continued working hard in training, with the focus now on securing their first victory of the season.
“We are continuing to fine-tune the team as the season progresses. Our main focus has been to build the players’ confidence so that they approach every game with the right mentality. We are seeing improvement in training, and we are hopeful of a positive result,” said Yobe.
The coach is aware of the attacking threat posed by Santhe Admarc, who have scored 4 goals in their opening 2 matches, and has challenged his defenders to remain alert throughout the contest.
“The good thing is that all our defenders are back. We made a few mistakes in Linthipe and one defender, Francis Kadango, had to leave the pitch due to injury, but everyone has recovered. We have worked on our defensive organisation and stressed the importance of staying focused for the entire match against Santhe.
“We will do everything possible to collect our first maximum points of the season because we understand how important that first win will be. It will give the players confidence and motivation heading into the games ahead,” he added.
Yobe has confirmed that the squad is in good condition, with no injuries reported. All the players who picked up knocks in the previous match against Chimbiya Stars have recovered and trained with the rest of the squad.
Silver Strikers Reserve have collected 2 points from their opening 2 matches after drawing both fixtures. They began the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mchinji Villa before sharing the spoils in a goalless encounter against Chimbiya Stars.
Santhe Admarc will also provide a stern test. They opened the season with a 3-1 victory over LUANAR before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Kalembelembe FC in their second outing.
