The 2026/27 FDH Premiership enters its eighth match week as Silver Strikers returns home to host Red Lions on Sunday, June 28.
Red Lions will be the third military side to visit Silver Stadium this season after Moyale Barracks made their visit in match week two and MAFCO FC in match week six.

Having won their last match against Chitipa United at Zomba Stadium, Red Lions will arrive at Silver Stadium on Sunday with confidence. The hosts return from Area 9, where spoils were shared in a 1-all draw with Civil Service United on Saturday.
Silver Strikers are currently third on the log table, having collected 14 points from seven games, chalking four wins, one loss, and two draws, whilst Red Lions are fifth on the standings with 12 points from the same number of games played, registering three wins, one loss, and three draws.
Head-to-Head:
Silver Strikers have maintained a strong upper hand over Red Lions in the last 10 meetings between the two sides. Out of the ten games played, the Central Bankers have won six times, while Red Lions has managed three wins, with a match ending in a draw.
The tie has heavily tilted in Silver Strikers’ favor in terms of goals scored. In the last 10 matches, Silver Strikers have scored 14 goals compared to Red Lion’s seven. The Area 47’s biggest statement victory came in 2023, when the side hammered Red Lions 4-1 at home.

Felix Dumakude, who suffered a meniscus injury, has started taking part in group training but will have to wait a little longer before being available for selection.
Eric Atsigah is still missing in action as he continues to undergo rehabilitation. At the moment, he is only doing light training under the guidance of the team doctor. Andrew Joseph, who also sustained a meniscus injury, remains unavailable as he continues with his rehabilitation program. He is currently doing light training after undergoing an MRI scan.
The good news for this week is that Nickson Mwase has returned to full training after being out of action for the past four weeks. He sustained an ulna fracture in his left arm, but is now available for selection this weekend.

Silver Strikers head into the match looking to strengthen their position in the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership title race as they sit third on the log, while also continuing their dominance over Red Lions.
For Red Lions, the match presents an opportunity to change the narrative by continuing from where they stopped as they were the victors of the previous fixture in 2023, a season they got relegated. Their position on the log table will also give them motivation as they have started well on their come back to the elite football and they may wish to carry on with the momentum.
