A Recap!

May was action-packed, even though only the Men’s senior side was in full action after the start of the 2026/27 FDH Premier League in April. The senior team played four games in May, winning two, drawing once, and losing once.

We, however, move on focused on what comes ahead as the senior team begins its journey in the 2026 Airtel Top 8 and continues grinding in the FDH Premiership, the Reserve side returns for the 2026/27 Chipiku Central Region Football Association League, and the Youth side will take part in the FED Steel Engineering Pre-season Tournament. All in June!

What’s our Diary in June?

Three of our teams, the men’s senior, Reserve and Youth teams, will be in action in the cold month of June. The Reserve and Youth sides will kickstart their season as they join the 2026 action.

Silver Strikers Men’s Senior Team

The month starts a bit cold, with no action in the first week of June, as we have entered the FIFA International Break which runs from 1st June to 7th June 2026. During this time, the Malawi National Football Team- The Flames are in camp in preparation for friendly matches the team will be taking part in. Silver Strikers have contributed three players to the Flames squad (George Chikooka, McDonald Lameck and Festus Duwe).

After the International Break, the Central Bankers will dive straight into the 2026 Airtel Top 8 action as the side will welcome Karonga United in the quarterfinal first leg at Silver Stadium. Last year, the Central Bankers lost in the final against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets after playing out a one-all draw. The match was decided in post-match penalties. This year, Silver Strikers will look to turn the tables and bring the Airtel Top 8 back home.

Action in the 2026/27 FDH Premiership will return as we will restart with a short trip to Area 9 to play in the first Lilongwe derby of this year as we will face Civil Service United on Saturday, 20 June. Next will be Silver Strikers hosting Red Lions at Silver Stadium on 27 June in the Premiership before concluding the month.

Silver Strikers Ladies

The National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership champions are back in training ahead of their title defense in the 2026/27 campaign. The National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership has been shifted forward from the earlier announced 30 May date as the competition looks to take shape in July, as June has been set aside for Club Licensing for Women’s Football in the country to take its course.

Ahead of the new season, pre-season training is in its sixth week, and the side has started playing some friendly matches to get in shape and ready for action.

Silver Strikers Reserve

The Reserve side returns to action mid-June, as the Chipiku Central Region Football Association League kickstarts on 7th June. However, Silver Strikers Reserve’s first fixture is on 14th June this year.

The team finished fifth last year and is currently in their sixth week of preseason as the side prepares to mount a challenge for the title this year.

Silver Strikers Youth

The 2026/27 FCB Katswiri Under 19 League will begin this month-end, and the Youth side are already on the field of play, picking up the pace. The Youth side finished second last season.

The side will face Masters Youth in a pre-season FED Steel Engineering tournament that kicks off on 7th June this year.

Ma Banker, that’s what’s in our calendar in June. Please note that some fixtures may change from time to time due to unforeseen circumstances; these changes will be communicated accordingly.
