With Nickson Mwase and Innocent Shema being the latest to miss Saturday’s match due to injury and suspension respectively, Head Coach Peter Mgangira has said their absence is an opportunity for others to step up and showcase their skills.

The gaffer said the unavailability of some players is not a concern for his side, saying others need to showcase why they are part of the Silver Strikers project.

Mgangira was speaking ahead of Saturday’s FDH Premiership match against MAFCO FC.

Mwase is out of action after sustaining an ulna fracture of the left arm. He is expected to be out for four weeks. On the other hand, Shema will not be available when Silver Strikers hosts the Kambiri-based soldiers, as he is suspended.

However, Mgangira said he anticipates a good game on Saturday.

“We are at a point where almost five players are out of action due to injury and suspensions nonetheless we are ready for this match on Saturday. We are playing a good side which is always physical but our players will be up for it. It’s an important game that comes at a time everyone is fighting to come top of the table but that is not giving us pressure as the job requires you to be strong in those moments. The players know how important a win is and we expect nothing short of it,” said Mgangira.

During the week, Yankho Billiat returned from injury after a four-week absence due to an Achilles tendon injury he sustained in the first match of the season.

Still out are Felix Dumakude, and Eric Astigah who are still nursing their injuries.

The Central Bankers return on Saturday after a goalless draw against Mighty Wanderers whilst the visitors chalked their first win against Chitipa United last weekend at Champions Stadium in Mponera.
