Head Coach Peter Mgangira has emphasized the need for his side to convert the chances the team creates on Sunday to have higher chances of chalking a third win.

Silver Strikers play away to Blue Eagles FC over the weekend in the third week of the 2026/27 FDH Premiership. The side has won two of the first matches this season.

Mgangira has, however, admitted that playing against the Area 30 side is not going to be easy, but his side is ready.

“We are playing a good side; Blue Eagles is now a youthful squad with equally good players. The team is under the guidance of a highly experienced coach, Derklerk Msakakuona, who also has a good backroom staff, so we expect a tough match, but we are ready for it. The most important thing to get a win is to take our chances. If you look at our past two games, we have created many chances that if we could have taken them well, we could have scored even more goals”, said Mgangira.

Mgangira added that his team does not feel on top of the world for winning the first two games, saying the Premiership is a long way and they will keep taking one game at a time.

“It’s important to play with confidence, as I have said, we need to take our chances. This goes to all the players: if we get a set piece or any chance to put the ball at the back of the net, regardless of whether one is a defender or not. This is not only about attacking players. We have won two games, but we know we haven’t made it, we still have to work and see how it goes”, he added.

So far, Silver Strikers is the highest scoring team, netting six and conceding only once. Masters FC, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, and Civil Service United come second with three goals scored each.

In Match week three, Silver Strikers will be without Eric Atsigah, Felix Dumakude, and Yankho Billiat, who are out due to injuries.
