A new month is upon us, Ma Banker, as three of our teams will be in action. Silver Strikers Men’s senior team, Ladies’ team, and Reserve side will be in battle in search of three points in the FDH Premiership, National Bank of Malawi Women’s Championship, and the Central Region Chipiku Football League, respectively.
Silver Strikers Senior Men’s Team
Firstly, we give you a recap of the just-ended April, whereby the senior men’s team began the 2026/27 FDH Premiership away from home. In the opening match, the senior side won 0-2 against Kamuzu Barracks FC at Champions Stadium in Mponela, Dowa.
Going into the new month, the side will kickstart the month on Saturday (2nd May 2026) as they host Moyale Barracks at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe. This will be followed by an away fixture on 10th May 2026, as the team will make a short trip to Area 30 in Lilongwe to play against Blue Eagles FC. After entertaining the policemen in their backyard, the side is expected to return home to host Masters Football Club at Silver Stadium on 17 May 2026.
The last match in May will be the team’s first away trip outside the central region, as the team will travel to Blantyre to play against Mighty Wanderers.
Silver Strikers Ladies
After winning the inaugural National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership last year, the Ladies’ side returns to action in May. The National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership begins on 30 May 2026, which marks the start of the title defense for our Ladies’ side.
Currently, preseason training is in its second week as the side prepares for the new season.
Silver Strikers Reserve
The side finished fifth last year in the Chipiku Central Region Football league and is currently in their third week of preseason as the side prepares to mount a challenge for the title this year. The league is scheduled to start on 16th May 2026, as indicated by the 2026/27 Football Calendar released by the Football Association of Malawi.
Silver Strikers Youth
They are the only side that won’t be in action this month. The 2026/27 FCB Katswiri Under 19 League will begin on 6th June. Despite the Youth League kicking off in June, they are currently back on the field of play, picking up the pace.
The Youth side finished second last season.
