A is for April, and April is for Action as the top-flight league is back to its full force. This marks the start of the 2026 season for Silver Strikers.
We play our first competitive match on 25th April 2026, when we play away at Champions Stadium, where we will face Kamuzu Barracks FC. This will be our only action for the month as the next fixture appears on 1 May against Moyale Barracks at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
Currently, the men’s senior side is loading up some energy in pre-season training ahead of the new season.
As part of preparing for the season, the Central Bankers were involved in a friendly match last week where the side beat Mponela FC 2-0 at Champions Stadium in Dowa.
This Easter holiday, Silver Strikers will be part of the Central Region 8 elite teams’ knock-out football Bonanza, which runs from 3rd April to 6th April 2026. On Friday, newly promoted side Mitundu Baptist will host Silver Strikers at Dedza Stadium from 3pm. The other teams to be part of the Easter football feast from the Central Region are Civil Service United, MAFCO FC, CRECK Sporting Club, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, Blue Eagles, and Kamuzu Barracks.
The winner from our match on Friday will face the winner between Goshen City Dedza Dynamos or MAFCO FC at Champions Stadium on Sunday.
Away from the men’s senior team, Silver Ladies, Youth, and Reserve are still on their end-of-season break and awaits the new season. The Ladies team won the 2025 NBM Women’s Championship and the Youth side finished second in the Lilongwe FCB Katswili Under 20 league. The Reserve side finished fifth in the Chipiku Central Region Premier Division.
