Silver Strikers midfielder Festus Duwe has been shortlisted for the Airtel Top 8 Player of the Tournament Award.
The nomination, which was announced by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on Thursday, Duwe has been nominated alongside FCB Nyasa Big Bullets duo of Maxwell Gasten Phodo and Blessings Mpokera.
Duwe’s inclusion follows a standout campaign in the 2025 Airtel Top 8, where the midfielder played a pivotal role for the Central Bankers. The dynamic midfielder featured in three matches, scoring three goals to finish as the competition’s top goal scorer while also collecting two Player of the Match awards in the process.
The latest nomination comes shortly after Duwe was crowned FAM Young Player of the Year last Friday.
According to FAM, the nominees were selected by the Competitions Technical Study Group after a detailed analysis of match statistics and individual performances throughout the tournament. The winner will be decided through a voting process involving selected coaches from the National Coaches Association and sports journalists.
The eventual winner will be unveiled at a special awards ceremony to be hosted by Airtel Malawi on a date to be announced.
