Silver Strikers FC delivered a dominant showing at the FAM Football Awards on Friday night in Blantyre, returning home with a remarkable eight accolades across both the men’s and women’s categories.

The Central Bankers’ women’s team led the charge following an outstanding campaign in the 2025 NBM Women’s Premiership, with striker Deborah Henry emerging as the biggest winner of the night.

Henry scooped three prestigious awards; the Women’s Player of the Year Award, the NBM Women’s Premiership Player of the Season Award, and the NBM Women’s Golden Boot Award. The prolific forward scored 23 goals during the season, scoring against every team in the league to finish as the competition’s top scorer. She beat teammate Ireen Khumalo and Leticia Chinyamula of Ascent Academy Soccer to win the Player of the Season accolade.

Reacting to the recognition, Henry expressed her gratitude, saying she was happy with the achievement.

“I am very happy to have won three awards tonight. I would just like to say thank you to Silver Strikers for believing in me, and to everyone who wished me well,” she said.

Silver Strikers Ladies also celebrated success between the posts after goalkeeper Ireen Sibande was named the Best Goalkeeper of the Season in the NMB Women’s Premiership. Her team mate Khumalo won the best NBM Women’s Premiership Defender of the season.

On the technical bench, Silver Strikers Ladies Head Coach Andrew Chikhosi was voted as the Best Women’s Coach of the Year, beating competition from Lovemore Fazili and Maggie Chombo Sadick.

The club’s success extended to the men’s side, where midfielder Festus Duwe was named the Best Men’s Young Player of the Year, ahead of Allen Chihana of Karonga United and Francis John Mchema of Kamuzu Barracks FC.

Goalkeeper George Chikooka also earned recognition after winning the Best Goalkeeper award in the 2025 FDH Bank Cup.
