Silver Strikers Ladies forward Deborah Henry, defender Ireen Khumalo, and goalkeeper Ireen Sibande have been recognized as top performers of the 2025/26 NBM Women’s Premiership season, as announced by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
Henry and Khumalo lead the nominations, each vying for major individual awards after playing crucial roles in Silver Strikers Ladies’ championship win.
Silver Strikers Ladies won the inaugural competition a fortnight ago, amassing 48 points in 18 games.
Forward Deborah Henry has been nominated for the Player of the Season Award, having had an outstanding scoring season. According to FAM stats, she played 18 league matches, starting 17, totaling 1,514 minutes. She ended the season as the top scorer with 23 goals, netting against every team and earning six Player of the Match awards in the process.

Defender-cum-midfielder Ireen Khumalo also enjoyed a remarkable campaign, earning nominations for both Player of the Season and Defender of the Season. Khumalo played 17 matches, starting each one and accumulating 1,440 minutes. She scored five goals and provided three assists.

Goalkeeper Ireen Sibande completes the trio, having been named the Best Goalkeeper of the Season. She recorded the league’s highest number of clean sheets, highlighting her crucial role in the team’s championship success.

The winners of the 2025/26 NBM Women’s Premiership individual awards will be announced at the FAM Annual Football Awards to take place on 6 March this year at COMESA Hall in Blantyre.
