Goalkeeper George Chikooka, forward Andrew Joseph, and former vice captain Maxwell Paipi have been nominated for the 2025 FDH Cup Awards.
Chikooka is the only one shining with two nominations: Best Player of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper Award.

According to information released by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Chikooka played in all five games of the tournament, accumulating 434 minutes of action. To earn the Best Goalkeeper nomination, he kept three clean sheets in those five matches. For the award, Chikooka has been nominated alongside Dalitso Khungwa of Mighty Wanderers and Rahman John of Civil Service United, both of whom recorded two clean sheets.
In the Best Player of the Tournament category, the shot-stopper is competing against former teammate Maxwell Paipi and Mighty Wanderers’ midfielder Blessings Singini.
Maxwell Paipi, who left the club in December, has also received a Player of the Tournament nomination after playing in all five games, starting each of them, and recording 450 minutes of action. The former vice captain scored a goal in the final and was a rock in the Silver Strikers defensive line.

Debutant Andrew Joseph is also among the nominees of the 2025 FDH Cup after earning a place in the Discovery of the Season category. This is an award that goes to an outstanding player participating in the tournament for the first time. Joseph played in four of the team’s games in the tournament and started in three of the four. Coming off the bench in his first match, the forward provided an assist and scored a goal.
Joseph joined Silver Strikers in midseason from Chitipa United just before the kick-off of the competition. He is nominated alongside Davie Juwawo and Mustapha Kelvin, both from Mchinji Villa FC.

Silver Strikers won the 2025 FDH Bank Cup at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe after beating Mighty Wanderers FC 5-4 on post-match penalties after playing out a 1 all draw in regulation time on 9 November last year.
