December was a month that saw Silver Strikers finish in third position in the top-flight league. During the month, the side faced Songwe Border United (6-0), Ekhaya FC (0-1), Karonga United (1-1), MAFCO FC (0-1), Mzuzu City Hammers (3-0), and Blue Eagles (1-1).

Midfielder Festus Duwe, Goalkeeper George Chikooka, and Defender McDonald Lameck are the three players nominated for the award following their performances in December.

This is how the three performed statistically:

McDonald Lameck: The enterprising and energetic defender played all five games in the month for Silver Strikers, proving his overlapping strength from the right back position. Lameck scored two goals when the Area 47 side played against Songwe Border United. This is his third nomination for the award, and he has yet to win it.

Festus Duwe: The jersey number 66 returned to full action in November and continued to excel in December, providing scintillating performances that included scoring twice, a goal each against Mzuzu City Hammers and Songwe Border United, and winning the Man of the Match award in both games. In the month, Duwe provided three assists in games against Ekhaya FC and Songwe Border United.

George Chikooka: The shot stopper was available in all games that we played in December as he kept the goal posts safe with his strong pair of hands. Chikooka kept three clean sheets in the five games he played in the month. Against MAFCO FC at Champions Stadium, the goalminder kept a clean sheet that saw him win the Man of the Match award. Chikooka continued to prove to be a reliable starting point of Silver Strikers’ moves going forward with his incredible footwork.
