Happy New Year Ma Banker!

Just like that, we have crossed over to 2026 after a successful year.

December was an event-packed month, which saw the men’s senior side conclude their TNM Super League run, while the Ladies’ side chalked up important wins to claim the inaugural National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership.

Going into January 2026, action continues on both sides, including the Reserve side.

The men’s senior team will look to wrap up the 2025-2026 football season on a high note as they kickstart the Castel Challenge Cup Campaign with a Round of 32 match against Namitete Zitha FC at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji on 11 January 2026. Should they progress, the side will face either Mzuzu City Hammers or Homesweepers in the competition’s Round of 16.

Currently, the team is still tuning up for the competition despite finishing the league in December.

Silver Strikers Ladies, who are the champions elect of the maiden National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership, will look to finish their campaign in January as they have three games to play. The side starts the month with a short trip to Civo Stadium to face Civil Service United Women this Saturday before they welcome FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women and travel to face MK Academy in Mzuzu.

With five games remaining, Silver Strikers Reserve continue to push in the 2025 Chipiki Central Region Football League, currently sitting in seventh position with 35 points. The McDonald Yobe-led side will travel to Area 30 on Sunday to face league leaders Blue Eagles FC at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

Ma Banker, that’s how we start 2026, we hope to see your continued support as we finalise all action in the 2025-2026 football season.

Wishing you a prosperous 2026!

Shapaaaa!
