Three games away from the finish line, Head Coach Peter Mgangira has said his side will fight until the end of the season and will not rely on results from other teams.
Mgangira was speaking ahead of Saturday’s encounter against MAFCO FC at Champion Stadium in Mponela.
Silver Strikers return to the field of play after a one-all draw against Karonga United in Karonga on Sunday.
Mgangira said he was happy as there was space this week for recovery and proper training.
“It has been a good week. We returned to Lilongwe on Monday after our game on Sunday. We have had plenty of days to recover and plenty of days to train, and the boys are in good shape and prepared to face MAFCO. We are playing a physical side, which is also a good team, but we always encourage our boys in games like these to let the ball do the work and see how it goes. We will fight to the end, and we will not lose focus. We are focusing on our team and our games; therefore, we will see how the league ends,” said Mgangira.
This week, Ernest Petro, who missed the trip to Karonga due to personal engagements, has returned to training and is up for selection, whilst forward Andrew Joseph is in rehabilitation awaiting his full return to action, and will not be part of the selection on Saturday.
After playing with MAFCO on Saturday, Silver Strikers will host Mzuzu City Hammers and Blue Eagles at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively
