The Central Bankers went to recess with a goal ahead. At the break, both sides did not make any changes.
Lassuli Jali was introduced in the 60th minute, replacing Chinsisi Maonga. Jali made his presence felt when he registered a shot on target eight minutes after his introduction, forcing a corner.
At 72 minutes, Zebron Kalima and Emmanuel Allan were taken out for Ernest Petro and Charles Chipala.
Five minutes from time, Festus Duwe was rested for Felix Dumakude
After the match, First Assistant Coach Mapopa Kent Msukwa said the game was tight but an early goal helped his side gain maximum points.
“We had a good game, but it was tough though. Ekhaya played a good game as well and we feel the boys put in some effort. We are not looking at the title at the moment but only a game at a time. We are happy that we have good competition in the team and we can rotate and use whoever is in form,” said Msukwa.
Silver Strikers will now travel to Karonga to play Karonga United on Sunday.
