The last month of the year is here. It is a month filled with action that helps decide our fate. December is not just another month; it is the time of year that shapes who you are, what you have achieved, and what comes next.
Before we delve into how we end the year, we share a little of what transpired in November. November was a mixed bag, with the senior team winning the third FDH Bank Cup after beating Mighty Wanderers in the final at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. In the same month, Silver Strikers Ladies tasted defeat for the first time this year after going down 1-2 to MDF Lioness at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe. The Silver Reserve and Youth sides made strides to push themselves up in their respective competition as their leagues move towards the close.
December will be a really defining moment as the top-flight TNM Super League gets to the finish line. With 23 games played, our senior side is in third position with 47 points and looks to finish strong with the title defense in mind.
Our senior side will have to play Kamuzu Barracks (H), MAFCO FC (A),Songwe Border United (H), Karonga United (A), Ekhaya FC (A), Mzuzu City Hammers (H), and Blue Eagles FC (H) to wrap up the 2025 TNM Super League, which truly puts December as the defining moment.
Away from the men’s senior team, we move focus to the Ladies’ side, who are currently on pause due to the Women’s Football International break. Play is expected to resume over the weekend as Silver Strikers Ladies will be hosting Ascent Academy on Sunday 14 December 2025 in the third match of the 2025 National Bank of Malawi Women’s Premiership second round. This tournament is expected to wrap up in February, and our Ladies’ side is still on top of the table with 30 points from 11 games played. The Area 47 Ladies team is yet to face Ascent Academy, Topik Academy, Mighty Wanderers Ladies, Kukoma Mtopwa Ladies, Civil Service Women, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Ladies, MK Academy, and in the second round of the tournament.
The Reserve and Youth sides continue with the grind in the Chipiku Central Region Football League and FCB Katswili Under 20 League, respectively. Silver Strikers Reserve are fifth on the standings with 8 games to play as they are on 34 points. They have won ten games, drawn four, whilst going down eight times. Silver Strikers Youth, on the other hand, is in fourth position with 57 points from 27 games. The side has won 18 times, drawn three times, and lost six times. By the end of December, the two sides will have a clear picture of where they will end their journey in the 2025 Season.
For all it has, this December will indeed be a defining period as we look forward to closing the year.
