Head Coach Peter Mgangira has urged his players to rise to the occasion as they face Mzuzu City Hammers at Rumphi Stadium on Sunday, in the final match of the 2025 TNM Super League first round.
Silver Strikers are in third place with 27 points from 14 games. Their most recent match ended in a goalless draw against Mighty Tigers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
Mgangira is optimistic that a win on Sunday will motivate the team to return stronger in the second half of the season.
“The boys look sharp, they are happy, and the mood is good. We know our opponents are currently struggling, but we, as a team, have a mission, so we need to win these points and see where we end up. A win on Sunday will help us close the gap from the other two teams ahead of us. Winning this final match will give us the motivation we need and help us review our performance after the first round,” said Mgangira.
Mzuzu City Hammers will be seeking redemption after a 0-4 defeat against Civil Service United in Lilongwe.
Silver Strikers will be without Chikondi Kamanga, Uchizi Vunga, Gift Chunga, Festus Duwe, and Duncan Nyoni due to injuries.
