Head Coach Peter Mgangire has urged his charges to forget recent league results against cross town rivals Civil Service United ahead of the Airtel Top 8 Semifinal showdown at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday.

The Central Bankers face Civil Service United on Sunday after winning  2-0 against the same side in league action earlier this month.

Mgangira said the result does not have anything to do with the upcoming tie as this is a cup match which a win moves the Area 47 outfit to the final.

The gaffer has however said that at the moment the boys are ready for the match.

“We are coming from a draw over the weekend where we came from behind to grab a point over Blue Eagles FC a result we did not prepare for, going into the semifinal we need to pick ourselves up and get a good result. We won in league action against Civil but that doesn’t have anything to do with this match, we need to forget the previous game, turn our focus on this game and make sure we get to the finals. Silver Strikers is a big club and getting to the final should always be something to look forward to”, said Mgangira.

The Head Coach said out of the nine players that were sidelined due to injury in the past week, a number of them are back in action for this match.

“We have some good news going into the semifinal as we have gotten a boost with the return of a few players who were out last week due to injury. Just to mention a few, forward Emmanuel Allan and center back Maxwell Paipi who were not available against Blue Eagles on Sunday they are in this week and thats fantastic news”, he added.

The winner on Sunday will face either Karonga United FC or FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the final.
