It’s a rematch this Sunday as we face Civil Service United in the 2025 Airtel Top 8 semifinal at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The two sides recently faced off in the TNM Super League about two weeks ago at Silver Stadium.
This week brings mixed fortunes for the Central Bankers heading into the semifinal of the Airtel Top 8. Some players who missed action last weekend are back in training, while others still need time to return to full action.
Vice-Captain Maxwell Paipi returns after being sidelined last week when he pulled his right thigh muscle on national duty. His captain, Chikondi Kamanga, is undergoing rehabilitation and his availability this weekend is still uncertain due to slight pain in his ankle.
Forward Emmanuel Allan rejoins the squad this week after missing the match against Blue Eagles last weekend due to a shin injury sustained in a friendly against Villa FC.
Another positive update is that Charles Chipala is now back on his feet and currently undergoing light training while awaiting his complete return. Chipala has been dealing with a hamstring injury. Duncan Nyoni will be available for selection on Sunday after returning to training this week. He missed last week’s match due to illness.
Still absent is left-back Precious Sambani, who will also miss this weekend due to a knee injury. Along with him on the sidelines is Samuel Ademeyi who is recovering from a hamstring injury. Ademeyi will be joining Gift Chunga in rehabilitation, as Chunga is recovering from a toe injury.
This is the current injury update as we head into the semifinal match against cross-town rivals Civil Service United on Sunday.
