Silver Strikers Reserve is off to a great start in the 2025 Chipiku Central Region Football League with two wins in two games.

The Reserve side holds first position on the log table after accumulating six points, scoring four goals, and conceding just one.

The team won its opening match a week ago in Mchinji against Santhe Admarc (1-2) before beating fellow capital city outfit Green Rangers (2-0) at ADL Ground in Lilongwe.

Silver Strikers Reserve Head Coach McDonald Yobe is impressed with his side’s start, but was quick to mention that the players should not be carried away as they have many games ahead.

“We are happy with our start this year, this is what we needed as we had a bad season last year. This year, we had an overhaul where most of the players who were with us were released to accommodate new blood. The new players are catching up well, but we still have a long way to go as we are working on several aspects in fine-tuning the team, but we hope the boys will continue giving their all,” he said.

Currently, Emmanuel Nyakupete is the team’s leading goal scorer with two goals after banging a brace when the side beat Green Rangers last Saturday while Ebenezer Mpangeni and Chrispin Julayi come second after scoring a goal each in the opening game against Santhe Admarc.

On Friday, Silver Strikers Reserve will travel to Mchinji Community Ground to play Mchinji Boma Strikers in the third league match.
