Head Coach Peter Mgangira has urged his charges to remain consistent as Silver Strikers make a short trip to Area 30 to face Blue Eagles on Sunday at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.
This will be Silver Strikers’ seventh 2025 TNM Super League game. Currently, the Central Bankers are seventh with 11 points.
Mgangira says though his side is struggling with injuries, a win on Sunday is needed but expects tough opposition as Blue Eagles is equally a good side.
“I think the boys are in good shape, they look sharp and ready. Of course, we’ve got a few injuries, which is not an excuse because we signed 30 players who are all equally good. We’re hoping that those who are going to be given a chance to play will show that they are also part of this team. During the week the training sessions have been very good and everyone looks very ready for the game. We know it’s not going to be easy playing against a very good squad with a very well experienced Coach Mr. Msakakuona who has coached football at all levels, locally and even at internationally. But as I always say, we respect the opposition but we do not fear them,” said Mgangira.
The team will be returning to action after winning the Lilongwe Derby against Civo Service United (2-0) before the FIFA International break.
Currently, nine players are ruled out due to various injuries and won’t make the trip on Sunday. These are: Charles Thom, Chikondi Kamanga, Precious Sambani, Maxwell Paipi, Gift Chunga, Duncan Nyoni, Charles Chipala, Sam Ademeyi, and Emmanuel Allan.
