After games against Songwe Border United, Moyale Barracks, and Mighty Wanderers, we wrapped up in grand style, achieving two wins and one draw. Now, voting for your May Player of the Month award has been opened where three of our players have been nominated.

During a month when we were mostly on the road, three players stood out as top performers: defender Maxwell Paipi, midfielders Chinsisi Maonga, and Festus Duwe.

Paipi returns to the nomination list for the second month in a row. The calm and composed defender played in all the matches Silver Strikers participated in May, delivering stellar performances on defense. As the last line of defense in our squad, Paipi has been pivotal in how we defend against our opponents and how we transition from defense to attack. One of the games in which Paipi showcased his strong defensive attributes was against Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium, where he thwarted most attacks from the hosts.

Maonga, who is proving to have started the season strong, is the second nominee for May. With one crucial goal this month, Maonga has been in the starting lineup for every game we have played and has been instrumental in our attacking efforts thus far. The player wearing jersey number 9 thrilled fans at Kamuzu Stadium when he curled in a last-minute free kick to secure a point for his side. This is Maonga’s first nomination for the monthly award this season.

Duwe also makes a return to the nomination list in May. The April Player of the Month winner has had another outstanding month, winning the Man of the Match award in the league match against Songwe Border United, where he scored a brace. He repeated this achievement against Moyale Barracks in the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Quarterfinal second leg at Rumphi Stadium, scoring another brace and earning the Dolo Wa Match award. The number 66 started in all of the team’s May fixtures.
