Head Coach Peter Mgangira has called on his charges to turn things around to secure maximum points as they face Kamuzu Barracks at Champions Stadium in Mponela on Sunday.
Silver Strikers is yet to win a game after picking a point in the first two matches of the 2025 TNM Super League.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s third league match, Mgangira believes the best way to grab maximum points is to learn from the previous games and face up to bounce back, and show that they are the defending champions.
“This is going to be another physical match, but we are ready. It’s not like we’re playing Kamuzu Barracks for the first time; we have played them before, and we’re hoping for the very best. We need a maximum of three points, so we will do our very best to make sure that at the end of the day, we have three points in our pocket. I think this is the right time to make a turnaround and bounce back as defending champions,” said Mgangira.
Last year, the two sides played to a two-all draw at Civo Stadium before the Area 47 outfit grabbed maximum points at Silver Stadium in the second round.
On Sunday, Mgangira will be without Felix Dumakude, Charles Chipala, Tatenda M’balaka, Samuel Adeyemi, and Patrick Macheso due to injuries.
