We enter match day three this weekend as we travel to Dowa on Sunday to play Kamuzu Barracks in Mponela at Champions Stadium.
This match comes days after we won the first leg of the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Quarterfinal against Moyale Barracks.
Four faces miss the trip to Champions Stadium due to various injuries.
First on the list is Gift Chunga, who sustained an injury to his right toe during the match against Moyale Barracks on Monday. Chunga will be on the sidelines for three weeks before his return after proper examinations and treatment.
Newly signed Felix Dumakude is second on the list of sidelined players due to injury. Dumakude won’t make the trip to Champions Stadium on Sunday after twisting his ankle in training. He is expected to be out for 10 days to accommodate proper recovery.
Charles Chipala and Tatenda M’balaka are the only players who have carried injuries from last season to the new one, as M’balaka is currently in rehabilitation, whilst Chipala is awaiting a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to determine the next step in his recovery.
In January this year, M’balaka underwent an arthroscopic ACL restructuring surgery in Kenya after sustaining an injury in August last year. Chipala is struggling with a groin injury.
