Ahead of their semi-final battle against fellow Lilongwe-based Ascent Academy, Silver Strikers Ladies Head Coach Andrew Chikhosi says he is optimistic about securing a spot in the 2024 Goshen FAM Women’s Football Championship final, as he feels his side is ready for the semi final showdown tomorrow.
Chikhosi says it is within the team’s plans to fight for glory and his side is capable of executing the plan and defeating the defending Champions to secure their spot in the final.
To get to the semifinals, Silver Strikers Ladies beat cross-town rivals Civil Service Women (2-0) on Tuesday.
“This is going to be another difficult match as we fight for a spot in the final of the tournament, however, we came here with a purpose therefore we will fight tooth and nail to make sure we grab the top prize. Our team is capable of making it to the final and more, all we need is to be clinical in front of goal, if we score then we will win,” said Chikhosi.
Ascent Academy beat MK Academy (4-0) from Mzuzu on Monday to qualify for the Semifinal spot.
The two sides failed to collect maximum points over the other on the regional phase as they shared spoils twice.
