Silver Strikers Ladies is set to kick off the Goshen-FAM Women’s Football Championship, which runs from 14 to 22 March this year at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.

Silver Ladies finished third in the Central Region Women’s Football League, qualifying for the playoffs alongside Mighty Wanderers Queens from Blantyre and Topik Sisters from Mzuzu.

A win in the playoffs will secure a place in the National final stage where they will join the likes of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women, Ntopwa FC, Ascent Soccer Academy, Civil Service Women, Moyale Sisters, and MK Academy.

Silver Strikers Ladies Head Coach Andrew Chikhosi, has expressed optimism of getting good results ahead of the playoffs.

“Our goal is to dominate the playoffs and make it to the national finals. We were a bit disrupted due to a short break caused by the national team’s engagements, but now our focus is set on the games next week. During the playoffs, we’ll be facing Mighty Wanderers Ladies and Topik FC who we don’t know much about how they play but we have our own game plan that we’ll stick to in order to win both games and progress to the national phase,” said Chikhosi.

The National Champions will represent Malawi at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier which will be held later this year.
