Head Coach Peter Mponda says his side needs to finish off the 2024 TNM Super League on Saturday as his side faces second-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Silver Strikers lead the log table with 61 points, 7 ahead of the Lali Lubani-based side.
Mponda says the game on Saturday is not about records but rather a match that will decide the destiny of the league this season.
The gaffer added that he knows it will be a difficult match but his charges are ready and up to the task.
“It’s going to be a difficult game, we know how good they are, and we know how desperate they want these three points to keep the league going. We are aware of all those facts, and we are prepared for the atmosphere tomorrow. This game is not about records, and It’s not about how we’ve been doing when we are playing in Blantyre, it is about finishing off the job we started. We want to finish the league tomorrow. I know it’s going to be tough, but the boys have been doing well throughout the season and I expect them to be mentally ready for action,” said Mponda.
The Central Bankers go into the match as the only unbeaten side this far and will only have to avoid a loss to clinch the title with two games to go.
In the first round, the Area 47 side won 2-0 at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
