Silver Strikers Head Coach Peter Mponda has said a win is vital as the team returns to league action on Wednesday.
The Central Bankers will play MAFCO FC at Civil Stadium in their 25th game in which they remain the only unbeaten side .
However, Mponda said this would be a difficult match considering that the Salima-based soldiers are in good form.
MAFCO FC is eighth in the standings with 38 points from 27 games, and is returning from a league win on Saturday against Kamuzu Barracks.
“It is a very difficult game as we are playing away from home however the players are looking good as they are also looking forward to getting three points tomorrow. These three points at stake are very vital three vital points therefore we will go to attack as we need maximum points at all costs. Nevertheless, I don’t think they will play a defensive game because they are also trying to fight to get into the top eight. The game will be exciting but like I said, we need these three points as we have already lost a cup and it is now the league in which we are fighting to win”, said Mponda.
Silver Strikers currently lead the table with 54 points. A win for the Area 47 side on Wednesday will increase their total to 57 points, which they achieved last season when they finished second.
