As the Central Bankers return to their backyard Head Coach Peter Mponda has emphasized the need for collecting maximum points on Saturday as his side faces Mighty Tigers in the seventeenth match of the 2024 TNM Super League.
This will be the first home game in the second round of the league where the Area 47 outfit is boosting of a 100 percent win record at Silver Stadium.
The two sides shared spoils in a 2 all result at Kamuzu Stadium in the first round.
Silver Strikers return to action after a narrow win (0-1) against Karonga United a fortnight ago while Mighty Tigers are returning from a win against resilient Moyale Barracks last weekend.
Despite yearning for a win, Mponda has described the match as tricky as Mighty Tigers are in good form.
“This is a complicated game altogether considering their form and the previous result with us but we feel this is a must-win for us as we fight for the title. Playing at home gives us the advantage to win the match but that alone is not enough we need to showcase good football and work hard to get the match-needed result but the feeling is great for all of us and we are focused on winning this match”, Mponda said.
The gaffer also called on Silver Strikers fans to come on Saturday to rally behind their side, saying their support has always pushed the team to do well.
