Head Coach Peter Mponda has underscored the importance of the international break saying it is a great opportunity for the players that have not enjoyed much game time to gain match fitness.
The gaffer said this ahead of the friendly match against Jenda United at Aubrey Dimba Stadium on Sunday.
Mponda feels his side will get good opposition and won’t take the match lightly.
“This is a very important week for us as we want to see the guys that haven’t been playing and we believe that the friendly match will be an opportunity to have 90 minutes that will push them to get at par with those that have played regularly so far. Teams like Jenda United provide good opposition so we feel this is a match we need now, ” said Mponda.
This will be the third time the Central Bankers are playing at Aubrey Dimba stadium this year after successful pre-season friendlies against Bangwe All Stars, Santhe Admarc at the same venue.
The Central Bankers will return to competitive action on Sunday, 16th June 2024 against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
