Silver Strikers Head Coach Peter Mponda says his side is focused on getting maximum points on Sunday as they face defending Champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in the ninth 2024 TNM Super League match.
Silver Strikers are currently unbeaten at the summit of the table with 22 points, eight ahead of fourth-placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets after eight games played.
Mponda says they are focused on taking each game as it comes knowing the league is a marathon.
“The team is in good shape and ready for our assignment on Sunday which we know won’t be easy considering that our opponents are very strong when playing at Kamuzu Stadium. With our performance in the previous match, we have told the boys to up their game and fight for maximum points and they understand the assignment. We are taking a game at a time and this week we play Bullets therefore the boys are ready to play and win”, said Mponda.
In the absence of four players namely Adiel Kaduya, Atusaye Nyondo, Gift Chunga, and Duncan Nyoni, Mponda says he has confidence in the players that are available as they have always shown that they can fight in place of those that are absent.
This is the third time the Central Bankers are playing away from home this season after collecting a point against Dedza Dynamos in Dedza and three points against Baka City in Karonga.
