The Area 47 based Ladies side has qualified for the semifinals of the 2023 Goshen FAM Championship after beating Moyale Sisters by three goals to one.
The win was enough for the ladies to keep their record of not missing out on a semifinal of this tournament since it’s inception.
A goal each from Chikondi Gondwe, Linda Manda and and Deborah Henry are what the Andrew Chikhosi side needed to book their place to the remaining four teams at the tournament.
Moyale Sisters found a breather at the start of the second half when Chippo Ngwenya pulled one back at 46 minutes.
This means Silver Strikers will play Ascent Academy on Friday.
Silver Strikers Ladies head coach said he was not very impressed with the performance of his side but said he will continue working hard with them in order to get better and stronger performances.
“It is nice that we have won the match today but our performance wasn’t good as the game was abit tough. We changed mid game after reading the way our opponents were playing and we were glad to see a great response from the girls”, said Chikhosi.
The final of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
