A dominant performance by Silver Strikers Ladies proved too difficult for CY Sisters to handle on Monday afternoon in the second preliminary round of the tournament.
The Area 47 ladies massacred CY Sisters 16-0 to qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the 2023 FAM Goshen City.
Eight goals from Deborah Henry, a hattrick each by Chikondi Gondwe and Madyina Ngulube, and a goal each by Linda Manda and Chisomo Banda were what Silver Strikers Ladies needed to boot out CY Sisters from the national tournament.
Speaking after match, head coach Andrew Chikhosi said the ladies utilized their speed in the game to create a lot of chances and he was proud of his team’s performance.
“I am very happy that we have won our first game today and we have showcased a very beautiful game which we planned. We played a high paced game and managed to utilize the chances created that’s why we have scored a lot of goals. Going forward we would like to maintain our momentum and win the competition”, said Chikhosi.
Silver Strikers Ladies will play against Moyale Ladies on Wednesday in the quarter finals.
