It’s a female version of the Lilongwe derby to decide the winner of the Dyna Top 4 Central Region Women’s Football Bonanza on Sunday at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.
Silver Ladies outwitted MDF Lioness by two goals to nil to complete a derby final following Civil Women’s Football win against Hungry Lions 5-0.
Goals by Deborah Henry at 72 minutes and another one at 80 minutes by Gladys Banda were enough to take the Area 47 ladies to the final of the MK2.5 million bonanza.
This means the two winners face off in the final of the on Sunday at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.
Speaking after the win against MDF Lioness, Silver Strikers Ladies head coach Andrew Chikhosi said the win on Saturday was important as it helped them to see their level of play.
“We are happy with the performance of the girls and i think this is a good starting point for the preparations of the National Championships”, said Chikhosi.
The Bonanza was organized to prepare for the FAM Women’s Football Championship.
