Head Coach Peter Mponda has said his side looks forward to an impressive start to the league as the team faces Chitipa United on Saturday at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
The Central Bankers face Chitipa United who finished fourth last season.
Last season, Silver Strikers managed to collect 4 points on top of Chitipa United after playing to a goalless draw at Civil Stadium in Lilongwe before snatching a 1-0 win at Karonga Stadium in the second round.
Mponda says it is important to win convincingly as it will help the team to settle and look ahead to the coming games.
“We are ready for this game and ready for the season, we know we are playing against a very good team that played well last season by finishing fourth on the standings. However, we have told the boys what to expect and what as a team we expect. With how we have done our pre-season we feel we need to start on a positive note and the boys are buzzing with confidence. It is important to start the season with a win but a win is not enough but we also need a good performance.” said Mponda.
Last season, the Central Bankers finished second after amassing 57 points from 16 wins, 9 draws and lost twice.
We expect nothing short but a win with more goals
