Silver Strikers dual of captain Chikondi Kamanga and Chimwemwe Idana are among the nominees for the award of the just ended season’s best midfielder.
The two played a critical role in the Central Bankers’ midfield courtesy of their skill and experience.
The captain played 26 games for the Area 47 outfit as he was forced out of action in the first round of the league due to an injury.
Idana’s nomination for the best midfielder comes days after being nominated for the Player of the Season accolade. In the 23 matches he played, he won the FOL Man of the match award 7 times whilst scoring 8 times as well as providing assists 8 times.
The jersey number 44 scored from the penalty spot once and was booked twice in the number of games he took part.
On the other end, Kamanga’s exceptional performance in providing balance in midfield throughout the season earned him 4 FOL Man of the match awards whilst being booked 4 times as well.
The energetic midfielder provided one assist and never registered his name on the score sheet in the 2023 season.
