After a tedious battle for points in the 2023 Chipiku Central Region Premier division league, Silver Strikers Reserve is set for their last game of the season against Support Battalion at Nankhaka stadium in Lilongwe.
The Reserve side is currently third on the standings with 44 points.
Speaking ahead of the match, Silver Strikers Reserve head coach McDonald Yobe has said he knows Support Battalion are a good opponent but his players are ready for the showdown.
“The players are ready for the game tomorrow, we need to finish the league with a bang so that we go for the holiday happy people. However, i understand Support Battalion is a good team so we have to take them serious otherwise they might surprise us which is not going to be good. Regardless of their good attributes i believe in my boys and am sure we are going to win this game”, said Yobe.
A win will give a glimmer of hope to the Reserve side retaining to second position but goals and an outcome of the game between St Gabriel Zitha FC and Kawinga FC will be very important.
