Silver Strikers Youth has registered a perfect start in the Lilongwe District First Capital Bank Katswili Under 19 league after getting two back to back wins in their opening matches.

The Area 47 Youth side won their first match against Spinks FC (2-0) and Scores FC (2-1) last weekend.

The team is currently reigning champions of the District, Regional and National levels of the football developmental league.

Coach Leo Mpulula has described the start of the league as perfect considering that the team has managed to collect maximum points but has however stressed the point that the team is in a building process.

“We have started well, two wins in two games which is commendable. However we are still building a team to take the competition by storm. We have so far encountered some injuries so we are still in a process of preparing a good team to compete.

This season we have great competition but that will not in any way deter us from doing what we are made for. We are here to make new players for Silver Strikers FC. We look forward to winning what comes ahead of us but at the same time we want to nurture players for the Reserve team then to the senior team.” said Mpulula.

Silver Strikers Youth is on second position tied on points with 24 Stars FC who are on top spot. The Youth team is in Group C with 24 Stars fc, Scores fc, Kaduwa Football Academy, Achievers fc, Spinks Pirates fc.

The team will face Kaduwa Football Academy on Sunday.
