SILVER RESERVE MAINTAIN WINNING STREAK.

Silver Strikers Reserve side has maintained its winning streak in the Chipiku Central Region Premier division.

The junior Central Bankers won away on Sunday against Santhe Admarc from a 12th minute strike by Masambilo Kalua. The lone goal takes the team’s goal tally to 22 without conceding any.

The Sunday win means the young Bankers are leading group B with 15 points from the 5 games played.

Speaking after the win on Sunday, Silver Strikers Reserve coach Mcdonald Yobe said his charges are geared to get the best results and that they are putting in so much effort which is why they are getting positive results.

“We had a tough game because of the condition of the pitch as you know our players like playing a passing game but due to the condition of the pitch we couldn’t. But the positive thing is that we had alot of chances of which one of them we got a goal and defended it well and won the game. The results we are getting are a true reflection of what the boys are putting in on the training ground. As a team that has very young players and are able to showcase beautiful football at the same time get results we must pat ourselves on the back for a good job we are doing. However we still have a long way to go and the goal is to win the Premiership therefore we just look forward to maintaining the pace”, said Yobe.

On his team keeping five consecutive clean sheets, Yobe said it is a result of a collective effort from the team

“I think the whole team is doing well in defending and each and every player is confident enough all we have to do is work extra hard to maintain the good spirit”, he said.

In Group B, Silver Strikers Reserve is playing in the preliminary phase alongside seven other teams. The teams are Luanar FC, Santhe Admarc, Kamuzu Barracks reserve, Mchinji Strikers, Mangoni Worriers, Mkanda Youth and Kamba FC.

After playing home and away in the preliminary phase, the top four teams in the group will face the best four from Group A.

Group A has Leyman Panthers FC, St. Gabriel Zitha FC, Mbabzi United, Support Battalion, Ekas Freight Wanderers, Dedza Young Soccer, Dwangwa United and Play Football MW. Leyman Panthers lead Group A with 11 Points.
