As Silver Strikers was trailing at the Kasungu Stadium, TN Stars substituted a creative midfielder Phillip Band to bring in a defensive midfielder Mtende Kaonga to hold on to play to force the draw to regulation time.

But this was to the advantage of Silver Strikers attacking midfielder Uchizi Vunga who now started to attack more with his deft and passes to his midfield partners Levison Maganizo and Chikondi Kamanga who were on top of their game forcing TN to open up defensively.

Vunga who had not yet placed a shot on target but in a space of 5 minutes took 3 long range attempts of which one was fisted away by TN stars goalkeeper with the other being blocked by defender Andrew Banda.

It was the third shot taken from the edge of the 18-yard box that saw Blackson Kotei beaten by the drive that Vunga had taken to take the bankers to 2-1 to break the deadlock and also a personal milestone for the left footed playmaker as the goal was his first for the bankers.

“The goal gave me confidence that it is possible for me to score and help the team carry the day, most importantly it has taught me not to doubt my abilities”, said a smiling Vunga who was visibly happy as he has now opened an account with the bankers.

Vunga was making his third appearance in three games and his first start which he says it is a testament to his performance and that he is striving to work hard to make sure that the stellar performance he has shown must not dwindle.
