Silver Strikers got to launch their new home ground until December with a win over Red Lions at the Bingu National Stadium.
The Bankers were so determined to collect maximum points in a campaign that was first marred with an away defeat to Red Lions in the first half of the league this season.
Despite creating several chances the teams failed to score against each other until late in the first half when Nickson Mwase’s deflected shot went past the Red lions goal line making the Mike kumamnga side concede 7 minutes away from halftime.
Shortly after James Mwetse was red carded after he elbowed Chawanangwa Kaonga in a scenario where no ball was involved making the lions to play 10 men for the remainder of the match.
Kaonga however added to his season tally after he scored from a Duncan Nyoni assist in the second half, Paul KAnsungwi scored the Red’s consolation after the ball slipped away from Chisale in his second game in goals.
The Lilongwe sky blues collected 3 points at the end of the match as referee Kondwani Kamwendo blew that regulation time had elapsed.
